Blurb Book Review

I take a million photos, though mostly with my iPhone. I know, I need to start using my real camera more…I DO use it, just not as much as I should. Anyway, now that we live in this digital age, it means that I almost never order hard copy picture prints. We have almost no framed pictures in our house.  [Hmmm...I see a very good idea for a New Year's resolution here.]

So, when I heard about Blurb and how easy it was to create printed books from your pictures, I was excited to try it out for myself. Of course, I decided to make my book a tribute to the Monkey man.  Blurb has a tool that will allow you to upload pictures directly from your social media sites like Facebook and Instagram, so I chose to upload a large chunk of my Instagram feed. Of course you don’t have to use one of these – there are other options like uploading directly from your computer.

It was ridiculously easy, and fun. With the push of a few buttons, I was able to go through my entire Instagram feed and choose about 50 photos that I wanted to include in the book. (It lets you chose however many you want.) You can also add a frame to the pictures and choose from various paper qualities. I got the soft flip book, but you can also choose one with a hard cover if you’re going for a more professional look. Small square books start at just $10.95, but you can choose from a wide range of book sizes.

Honestly, I was impressed with the size of the small square when I received it in the mail. I guess I must not have been paying attention to the size measurements when I made my book digitally, because I thought it was going to be smaller than it was. The book measures 7 inches by 7 inches, while I was picturing it to be more like 4 by 4.  The quality is great, too! Obviously the image quality isn’t stellar – but that’s due to the fact that I took the pictures with my iPhone, more often than not with very low light. But, for being pictures from a PHONE, the book looks great. Lastly, the shipping was fast! Books are printed and shipped within 7-10 days after ordering. I received mine within a week.

I would highly recommend Blurb to anyone looking to instantly turn their digital pictures into a quality printed book. And, the more you order, the cheaper each book ends up costing you. Play around with size, paper quality, and even captions!

Are you interested in making a photo book of your own? Head on over to their site and design one now. If you decide to order, be sure to click here to learn how you can get 15% off your book! Also, be sure to follow Blurb on Facebook and Twitter to keep up with their latest news and deals.

Disclaimer: Blurb gave me a $25 credit toward their site, so I chose to make a small square photo book with 50 pages. This credit was enough to cover the book, but I did have to pay for shipping. The free product in no way influenced my opinion of this book. This post also contains affiliate links.
