I’m having tons of trouble sleeping lately and so I’ve been waking up early. Yesterday I was up at 5:30 after tossing and turning most of the night, stayed in bed until about 6:45, then I decided to get up and get ready. I’m trying to get things done around the house that are on my To-Do list because our landlord is supposed to be having painters come strip and paint our house any day now…when they come I want to be away from the house, so I want to make sure I get the stuff done I need/want to before Baby Crunchy arrives. Anyway, so I thought today would be a good day to give our rabbit a haircut (she’s long-haired and needs a haircut every other month or she gets all matted) and deep clean her pen. TCH built her this pretty large pen that we have lined with a blanket…so I took out the blanket and washed/dried it while I was giving her a haircut.
Since I was washing the blanket, I figured it would be a good time to mop the floors (the blanket sits on the bare floor in the mud room)…so I swept and mopped the bathroom, nursery, kitchen, and mud room. After I finished, I filled the dishwasher and started it. Also threw in a load of laundry.
Then, TCH and I ran to the local grocery store and got a few things… on my way back I picked up a decaf blended pumpkin spice latte (sorry gotta indulge sometimes!) – seriously try it blended. So good.
When I got back, I decided to finally sew the nursing cover I’ve been meaning to sew. I already had the fabric, so it literally cost me maybe $2.00 after buying the D-Clips and boning needed. I followed THIS tutorial and it was crazy easy. Didn’t take very long at all and it turned out great. Might be a little on the big side, but I think it will work. Here’s how it turned out:
Since I was in the sewing mode, I decided to sew some “baby legs” I’ve been meaning to make. Have you seen them? They are so freaking cute. I went through my sock drawer and found two pair of knee-highs that I haven’t worn in forever and decided to try it out with them. These were even easier than the nursing cover! Well, sewing the cuff in was a bit of a challenge on the first sock, but after I figured it out, the other three went super quick. I followed THIS tutorial exactly. Here’s how they turned out:
My To-Do list is shrinking steadily…really if I went into labor now I’d be set I think. I packed my hospital bag yesterday so that’s all ready to go. At Starbucks today, the girl that took my order asked when I was due; saying 2 1/2 weeks felt so crazy (but exciting!) Just hoping he holds off a little while longer..my parents are coming out and expect to be here right on or right before my due date, so it’d be nice if Baby Crunchy waited until they were here! Even if he doesn’t, though, it will be nice to have them here for a while as we adjust to our new life! We can’t wait!
